In collaboration with the Namibian Automobile Association (AA) and the Women in Road Safety Forum (WRSF), the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVAF) hosted its fifth Women in Road Safety Conference in Windhoek on Monday.
The two-day event, themed “Women at the Wheel: Bridging the Gender Gap in Road Safety”, emphasised the concepts of women’s empowerment and active engagement in road safety. The conference highlighted the need to address gender inequalities within the sector by promoting women’s leadership, representation and contributions to improving road safety.
Khomas Region Governor Laura McLeod focused on the need for a change in thinking in road safety, pointing out that over 70% of road accidents occur in the capital.
