JUST IN: Namibia’s passport ranking improves
Ellanie Smit
Namibian passports currently rank 67th in the latest Henley Passport Index, up from a ranking of 70 last year. However, Namibian passports have not actually become more useful, as the number of visa-free countries Namibia has access to has remained the same at 78. The index is the original ranking of all the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. Japanese citizens can visit 193 destinations out of 227 around the world visa-free, while South Koreans and Singaporeans, whose countries are tied in 2nd position on the index, enjoy a visa-free/visa-on-arrival score of 192.
