A Christmas box for a farmer's wife

Drought Relief Namibia is once again appealing to the public to support their charity project, Christmas Box for a Farmer's Wife.
"We want to spoil our farmers' wives again this year. It definitely makes a difference in her life, especially in difficult times like during the drought," says Henriëtte le Grange of the organisation.
She asks that gift boxes be handed in at delivery points in the second week of November to allow enough time for the organisation to distribute them to farmers' wives. The gift boxes will be distributed along with loads of feed.
"A group of friends can also pack a gift box together."
Le Grange says it's a great idea to pack a shoebox full of pampering products for a farmer's wife that includes food and treats such as home-baked cookies or rusks, dried fruit and nuts, honey or jam, chocolate or sweets and coffee.
You can also spoil her with beauty products, household items such as napkins or a tablecloth, plants or flower seeds or something to relax with such as a magazine or a book, puzzle or board game. Practical items such as a water bottle or coffee flask are also welcome.
Le Grange emphasises that a personal message of support and hope in a card is the most important.
"It is important to remember that the gesture of care and support has the greatest value," she says.
Elma Lausberg writes on Drought Relief Namibia's Facebook page that she received the most beautiful dark blue scarf in such a gift box in 2019: "To this day, when I see or use that scarf, I say thank you in my mind. I think of the person and ask that our Heavenly Father will bless her too."
