Bowled Over, a collection of ceramic works presented by the Potters Association of Namibia (PAN) in collaboration with the Bellhaus Atelier & Galerie, will be exhibited at the gallery from this coming Friday (7 September) until Saturday, 23 September.
This group exhibition is described as a dazzling amalgamation of art and utility work.
"Bowled Over, featuring various bowls in every size, shape and colour, is PAN's annual themed exhibition, which this year redefines the humble bowl as an undeniable work of art and a manifestation of our country's shared appreciation for nature," the gallery says of the collection.
Bowled Over was curated by Andrea Behnsen and the PAN committee and includes a variety of techniques and textures - from glazed to hand-painted containers. From Annabelle Venter's ceramic animal figures to Martin Harris's organic shades, and many more bowls in between - Bowled Over demonstrates that a simple, practical craft can take endless, beautiful forms.
The official opening of the exhibition takes place on Thursday at 18:00 for 18:30.
