EES in the running for Eurovision Song Contest
The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) is one of the most-watched music competitions in the world, and this year, Namibian-born artist EES is vying for the chance to represent Germany!Known for his vibrant fusion of Namibian culture and modern sounds, EES has submitted his latest single, “One” for consideration. The song is part of Germany's newly revamped ESC pre-selection process, which includes up to four high-profile shows spearheaded by German television icons Stefan Raab, NDR and RTL.
The music video for "One" was proudly filmed in Namibia, showcasing the landscapes and spirit of the country where EES was born and raised. While he has spent many years in Germany, EES’s work consistently integrates the unique rhythm, energy, and cultural essence of Namibia.
The song itself is a powerful anthem of perseverance and hope for unity in a world often divided by politics and conflicts. Its message resonates across borders, urging listeners to believe in the possibility of a united world – a sentiment as relevant in Namibia as it is globally.
With a track that “grooves like crazy” and a heartfelt call for togetherness, EES brings authenticity and passion to the stage—something Germany has sorely missed in recent years at Eurovision.
Namibians can take pride in seeing one of their own making waves on the international stage, reminding the world of Namibia’s rich musical talent and cultural influence.
