Local dancers part of Disney parade
Amid stiff competition, dancers from the Anchen Wille Dance Academy in Windhoek secured their place in the prestigious annual parade held at Walt Disney World thanks to their extraordinary skills and creativity.The Disney Dance Magic Street Parade is known for its festive atmosphere with participants from all over the world being chosen to be a part of it.
The parade is presented annually at Walt Disney World in Florida in America and turns the streets into a kaleidoscope of colours and rhythms that make it a magical experience for both participants and spectators.
The talented dancers of the academy have also set their sights on the Millenium Dance Centre, the pinnacle of dance education. This unique collaboration brings Namibian dancers face to face with some of the world's best choreographers which is a huge opportunity to further sharpen their skills and creative expression. It is also a significant step towards bringing together global dance communities and fostering a deeper understanding of diverse dance forms.
"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our dancers," says Anchen Wille, founder and artistic director of the dance academy.
"Learning from the best in the world will not only improve their technical skills, but also expose them to a world of creativity and innovation," she said.
The Millenium Dance Center has a faculty consisting of world-renowned choreographers who have made an indelible impression on the dance world, with dance styles ranging from contemporary to hip-hop and traditional dances. – [email protected]
