The wonderful world of Myai

Henriette Lamprecht
Just a few months ago, she tried her hand at digital art and started "playing" with it, and now she is exhibiting her creations in a prestigious gallery in Germany.
Mariette Korf is one of 31 artists from all over the world whose digital artworks are currently being exhibited at the renowned P61 Gallery in Berlin. Under the banner "Meat Utopia - A Solarpunk Exhibition", the collection focuses on the emerging "solarpunk" movement and represents artistic solutions to the imbalance between man, animal and nature.
"Solarpunk" is an art form that looks optimistically towards the future and creates promising worlds.
Mariette, aka Myai Korf, shares the exhibition space with pioneers of the "solarpunk" movement such as Rita Fei, Félix Riaño and the internationally acclaimed design studio Karakter, with her artworks created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
Three sets of her artworks - "The Beautiful Ones", "Alien Mothers" and "What's on your mind" - are part of 47 artworks that can still be viewed in Berlin until 8 October.
Every work of art is a "little story", says Mariette, and the more information you provide to the "bot" and the more creative you are, the more beautiful your work of art is. She uses a special programme in which a command (prompt) is given to the "bot" to sketch a picture of the one she has in her head, she explains.
"You give the assignment to, for example, create a photo of a yellow cat on a table. The clearer your instructions are, the more beautiful the image becomes."
Part of Mariette's incredible creations are the inhabitants of Silver Moon Hollow who let your imagination run wild about the most unique residents hiding somewhere in worlds full of hope.
"I love mammoths and aliens, I won't easily create a landscape. I also like to create characters that show emotion and are real."
Mariette is the manager for visual design and communication at Agra and used to paint, but it was frustrating because it "takes too long".
"Now I can see exactly what I see in my head on paper and it's much faster."
There are those who say that a digital artist is not really an artist, but she doesn't mind that. "They say we can't call ourselves artists, because you're not doing it, you're just giving the instruction. But it's the same as someone who plays the piano - you give the instruction which sound should be formed."
According to Mariette, AI is conquering the world and digital art is improving exponentially. She admits her ideas "keep me up at night" and you can literally do anything you can think of. "My art is my good deed to the world, if it can make people smile, I'm happy!"
