Twelve-year-old Alejandro earns historic nomination

Alejandro Cooper (12), who plays young Lukas in Philippe Talavera’s film Lukas, has been nominated as Youngest African Actor at the 2024 Sotigui Awards in Burkina Faso. This is the first time a Namibian actor has been nominated in this category and is this year’s only Namibian nomination. The Sotigui Awards are organised in Burkina Faso annually to recognise talents all over the African continent and the diaspora.
