Bank Windhoek’s Chief Treasurer, Claire Hobbs, said the bank is delighted to partner with Afreximbank in the Trade Finance Seminar and Workshop.
“We look forward to learning, exchanging views and ideas with subject matter experts and seeing where we can collaborate since trade finance is a strategic focus for the Bank,” said Hobbs.
Bank Windhoek’s Head for Investment Banking, Gideon Vos, will be one of the panellists discussing the theme “Sustaining Financing for Oil and Gas Projects in Africa: A Case for New Discoveries in Namibia”.
Since Tuesday, the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has been hosting a Trade Finance Seminar and Workshops (ATFS2024) in Windhoek. This annual seminar plays a leading role in equipping Africa’s financial institutions, bankers, regulatory agencies, corporations, and legal firms to meet the challenges of financing transactions amidst economic uncertainties. The event concludes today.
Digital solutions
Themed ‘Promoting African Trade in a World of Digital Solutions’, the seminar looks at the impact of digitalisation on trade to enable the continent's trade practitioners, explore how to grow trade finance via shared African/International know-how and support Trade Finance practitioners with technical skills to navigate trade.
With Bank Windhoek as one of the sponsors, the event also addresses critical trade finance trends tools and offers training in innovative strategies to bolster Africa’s trade ecosystem.
The seminar hosts several world-class speakers and technical training workshops covering various topics. As a local financial service provider, Bank Windhoek has become a Trade Finance Intermediary for Namibian trade transactions due to its partnership with Afreximbank.
