Nampost launches digital banking channels

NamPost launched its MyNamPost Banking App and Internet Banking platforms late last week, offering customers convenient, real-time access to financial services from anywhere. These platforms allow 24/7 access to accounts, enabling balance inquiries, payments, and electronic funds transfers (EFTs).
This move is part of NamPost’s digital transformation and aims to promote financial inclusion for under-banked and unbanked communities.
At the launch, Minister of Information and Communication Technology Emma Theofelus highlighted the importance of digital literacy for Namibia’s economic development. She praised NamPost’s role in advancing financial inclusion and the government’s support for accessible financial solutions.
NamPost CEO Festus Hangula described the platforms as more than just technological upgrades. They offer users greater control over their finances with simple, affordable tools that improve access to banking services. Previously, NamPost customers had to visit branches in person, often facing long wait times. The new digital channels eliminate these issues by providing real-time account access and the ability to transact from any location. Lower transaction fees and enhanced financial inclusion ensure that even remote communities can benefit from these services via smartphones or the Internet.
The MyNamPost App is available on the Google Play Store and App Store, while Internet Banking can be accessed on the NamPost website. Customers must visit a post office to complete onboarding before using the app.
The launch is part of Project Sky, NamPost’s broader digital transformation initiative aimed at improving efficiency, enhancing customer experience, and ensuring financial sustainability. NamPost board chairperson Dr. Simeon Amunkete emphasised that the organization’s evolution is driven by customer needs, and NamPost remains committed to serving the people of Namibia. With 136 service points nationwide, NamPost is dedicated to bridging the digital divide and providing essential, convenient, and affordable financial services for all.
