Cymot Hilltop opens doors in 34 days

With obvious pride, the Executive Chairman of the Cymot group, Axel Theissen, gave our sister publication, Allgemeine Zeitung an exclusive look into the premises of Cymot Hilltop which is being built in just under 24 months next to the Grove Mall in Kleine Kuppe.
The term "boutique " for the automotive, bicycle, outdoor and protective gear and tool industries springs to mind when you look at the state-of-the-art innovations that go into equipping a building that is a leader in terms of sustainability and chic.
Theissen emphasised that the design of the entire building is geared towards sustainability and the unique shopping experience of customers.
The AZ witnessed the moment when Theissen flicked the switch, disconnecting the building from the city's power grid and switching it to the internal battery network. Not only is the roof covered with insulating panels which makes it easier to regulate the air conditioning, but the building gets its electricity from 960 solar panels, which store the electricity in 30 x 280 amp-hour batteries. The building has access to the municipal supply, but also has its own emergency generator ready for use on site.
The ground floor is set up as a parking garage, but also as a warehouse, and above it there are more than 3 000 square meters of shopping space. There are four entrances - one from each direction, including directly from the shopping centre - and the entrance on the east side leads to the so-called fitment center for 4x4s.
