Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) presented at the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform’s Khomas Stakeholder Awareness Workshop on Water Resources Management held in Windhoek this week.NBL continues to collaborate with industry partners to address water conservation amid Namibia’s ongoing drought.
“We are actively working with the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform (MAWLR), the City of Windhoek, and Northern Industrial Area operators to amplify our impact and strengthen partnerships,” said Franklin Angermund, NBL’s Sustainability Manager, presenting on NBL’s Journey Towards Water Efficiency.
As a leader in the beverages industry, NBL supports the Water Resource Management Act by focusing on improving water efficiency and collaborating with key stakeholders to tackle shared water challenges.
NBL's commitments include responsible water use, implementing water-saving measures, and ensuring effective wastewater management. Since 2015, NBL has invested N$35 million in water conservation, achieving a 7.5% reduction in water usage compared to last year.
Additionally, NBL has launched a community impact project in partnership with the Hanns Seidel Foundation to enhance food security and reduce water demand.
The two-day workshop brought together around 70 participants to discuss water priorities, share best practices, and exchange industry insights.
