Namforce expands coverage to everyday Namibians
Namforce recently relaunched its brand and extended its products and services to the general public.Namforce is a 100% Namibian-owned long-term insurer, which is owned by government through the Ministry of Defence (MoD), with August 26 Holdings being the immediate shareholder, which until now only provided insurance coverage to members of the Namibian Defence Force.
Speaking at the event, Namforce MD Martin Shaanika said that through its partnership with the MoD, they have been able to extend their services to the public. “We found it fitting to celebrate this accomplishment to not only serve our main client but to extend our service offerings to each and every Namibian.”
On the same occasion, MoD minister Frans Kapofi, congratulated Namforce for their service rendering and for ensuring peace of mind for its members.
“Namforce is the brainchild of a very noble mission. During the early 1990s, soon after independence, there was a need for the government to help provide insurance cover for the brave and loyal members of the Namibian armed forces. Since its inception, the scheme was administered by various insurance companies, until the government established a dedicated life insurance company, namely Namforce,” Kapofi said.
Also at the event, the MD of August 26 Manufacturing, Ndapewa Hangula, applauded Namforce and its board of directors for expanding into the Namibian market. “I am proud of Namforce for achieving this milestone, not only for launching this initiative to Namibians but allowing so much more growth within our own economy.”
Chairperson of the Namforce board, Marilyn Maurihungirire, said that a rebranding exercise should not be seen as a cosmetic change but should be felt through customer experience. “A rebranding means nothing if the service does not live up to its core values. Customer centricity is what our brand revolves around and through our young, dynamic and professional team, I am sure that these values are instilled in the heart of Namforce.”
Namforce offers life insurance, disability insurance, funeral coverage, credit life, and savings and investment-related insurance, which are also offered on a group scheme basis to corporations.
