Next Indaba in the works
The Old Mutual Foundation hosts the second edition of its flagship Youth Indaba (2.0) on 21 February this year. Building on the success of the inaugural event, this year's Indaba features a dynamic programme centred on the theme "Closing the Gap between Education and Skills Development".As a key initiative empowering Namibia’s youth, the Indaba tackles critical challenges in skills development and career readiness. Attendees can expect practical insights, hands-on training, and valuable networking opportunities.
“The 2025 Youth Indaba symbolises our dedication to Namibia's youth,” says Mignon du Preez, Old Mutual Namibia Group Marketing, Public Affairs and Sustainability Executive. “By mending this particular seam between education and skills, we are engineering tangible solutions and opportunities to ignite the spirit of leadership for the coming generations.”
The event will comprise panel discussions with leading industry professionals who will share expertise in areas such as technical skills, emotional intelligence and career readiness. Breakaway sessions will take centre stage on agricultural careers, strategic thinking, adaptability, mental wellness, soft skills and financial literacy.
The day will end in style with the Happy Hour Sundowner - a vibrant fusion of live performances, poetry, and comedy to get those networking juices flowing.
The Indaba seeks to equip young professionals with resilience and soft skills necessary for success at work, career path guidance, and information on available internships and scholarships; highlight entrepreneurial opportunities that exist in fields such as agriculture and green hydrogen; and encourage conversation on how to align education with industry needs.
Entrepreneurs can also showcase their products and services at vendor stalls, gaining exposure to industry professionals, policymakers, and potential customers.
Space is limited, and while tickets are free, securing a spot early is essential. Get tickets to multiple sessions via Webtickets.com.na as from 25 January 2025
