The Windhoek fire brigade responded to a fire in the Lafrenz industrial area shortly before 07:00 on Tuesday.
Carlo Louw, chief operating officer of the Windhoek municipality's emergency services, said the fire started at ATS Coffins, a coffin factory.
“When we arrived at the scene, the entire factory was engulfed in flames and part of the roof had already collapsed,” he said.
Louw confirmed that no one was injured in the fire, but that electrical tools as well as several finished coffins and parts of coffins were destroyed in the fire.
The extent of the damage and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
