Clean water, kitchen for Rooidaghek PS
Rooidaghek Primary School located en route to Tsumkwe was the beneficiary of a new cooking area/kitchen, which includes a food preparation area, running water and a fire pit, thanks to Support e.V and Ohorongo Cement.The old water tank was replaced with a new tank, and the stand was renovated with new steel.
The total project cost was N$102 000.
A dilapidated shelter was used as a cooking area and the water tank and stand were in need of urgent upgrading. The school is centrally located, providing access to learners from three community settlements – Omatako, Grashoek and Swarthak.
At the handover earlier this month, chief Longman Nailenge of the !Kung Traditional Authority in the N#a Jaqna Conservancy expressed the community’s gratitude and noted that the donated kitchen and structure will have a lasting impact on the ability to support the children.
Principal Mr. Hakuria said that the donation will have a remarkable impact on the learners and staff, for years to come.
Rudolf Coetzee handed over the donation on behalf of Support e.V and Ohorongo Cement.
Support e.V. was established by a group of medical doctors who made it their aim to support humanitarian projects throughout the world. They partnered with Ohorongo Cement in Namibia, to implement various identified projects aimed at making a difference at grassroots level.
