DHPS, Goethe Institute & PASCH host Career Fair
The international focus on study, career and training choices among young Namibian graduates is becoming increasingly evident. Besides language skills as a key to establishing oneself abroad, comprehensive study and career counselling at schools is crucial to showcase diverse opportunities and to guide learners in their choices. The Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS) has always supported its high school learners in their career and study choices in Germany, Europe and southern Africa. The school regularly offers universities and companies from around the world the opportunity to present themselves to its learners during Career Days.
Since 2023, the Goethe-Institut Namibia has been organising an annual career fair in Windhoek for Namibian school graduates with German language skills and for German companies. The interest in this event is very high among both exhibitors and visitors, and in recent years it has attracted not only small and medium-sized enterprises but also large companies such as Bayer and Deutsche Bahn.
This year, DHPS and the Goethe Institute Namibia join forces for the first time to host a joint Career Fair. Namibian and international universities, educational institutions, associations and companies will present themselves, offer (digital) lectures, recruit young talent and engage in discussions.
The first portion of the fair takes place from 27 February to 1 March 2025, at the DELK Community Centre in Windhoek. Participation in the mornings is reserved for learners of PASCH schools in Windhoek, while the afternoons and Saturday are open to the public.
For young people, this is a wonderful and unique opportunity in Namibia to expand their career horizons and gain detailed insights into exciting professional and vocational training fields.
To increase the project´s reach and offer other young people the opportunity to explore career options, the Career Fair Roadshow takes place from 3 to 7 March 2025 at PASCH schools in Tsumeb, Otjiwarongo and Swakopmund.
