DHPS hosts a Musical Kaleidoscope

Staff reporter
Jazz, classical music, traditional pieces, Disney medleys and African classics – all this and much more was heard at the colourful school concert of the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS) last week.
Themed Musical Kaleidoscope, the music groups, musical working groups, wind and choir classes, and the DHPS orchestra put together a magical evening. It felt like the whole school was involved in this diverse musical event.
Music as a school subject is a rarity in Namibia. DHPS is one of the few schools where young musical talent is nurtured accordingly. For the faculty and the school, it is not only important to teach children music theory but also to enable them to perform on stage with their instruments and music, captivating others with their musical abilities.
And the learners from grades 1 to 12 succeeded in doing just that, literally bringing the audience to their feet: Visitors, families, friends, alumni, and music enthusiasts fully enjoyed the event in the packed DHPS auditorium.
Many thanks to all the musicians, music teachers, and of course, all the visitors from the school community who made and supported this wonderful event!
