DHPS hosts annual career fair

The DHPS Career Fair, the internal training fair of the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS), had a lot to offer: from medicine and finance to aviation and psychology.
On April 23 and 25, grade 9 to 12 learners had the chance to explore exciting prospects after school.
Eleven different professional fields and companies presented their study, training, and career paths in the school's auditorium, at information stands and through presentations.
The Namibian Aviation Training Academy (NATA) opened the event on 23 April with an engaging presentation on aviation and the training opportunities available, followed by Dr Theuns Laubscher, who provided insight into veterinary medicine. The IT sector, with a focus on software development, was also showcased by FNB Namibia, and the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT) offered a small exhibition in the foyer, answering the young adults’ questions.
On the 25th, FNB Namibia held another lecture on robotics process automation and data analysis. Cynthia Beukes explained fields of study and employment in psychology, while Nhika Vassallo described the study and professional career of a lawyer.
Furthermore, Dr Marius van Straaten visited the DHPS campus with his mobile dental practice during the career fair.
Being a German school abroad, DHPS maintains a strong focus and close collaboration with German universities and training companies. This was evident in the presentations and networking opportunities with representatives from Deutsche Bahn, Leipzig University, the German Bundeswehr, the Emsland Business Association, and Lingen University of Applied Sciences, which showcased a wide array of career paths and study opportunities.
A big thank you to all the companies, speakers and organisations who presented their industries, inspired our learners with engaging workshops and facilitated valuable networking opportunities with industry experts.
