Emerging Bankers Programme launched

The Capricorn Academy for School Leavers, part of the Capricorn Foundation and Bank Windhoek’s Young Talent Programme launched in Windhoek today with the announcement of ten successful candidates.
With funding of N$1 million, this initiative aims to empower Namibia’s youth and combat unemployment. Candidates underwent a comprehensive induction in Windhoek, including a tour of Bank Windhoek’s branches, to familiarize themselves with the organization.
Originally named the Capricorn Academy for School Leavers, the programme has been rebranded as the Emerging Bankers Programme. The Capricorn Foundation’s investment creates opportunities for young Namibians to gain skills and employment.
Marlize Horn, Executive Officer of the Capricorn Foundation, emphasised the programme’s commitment to nurturing talent and preparing individuals for banking careers.
The programme's structure includes extensive training and job placements over 18 months, focusing on fostering economic independence and professional growth. Louretta Louw, Head of People Development at Bank Windhoek, highlighted its aim to create a talent pipeline in smaller towns and empower youth through community engagement.
Selected through a rigorous process, the ten candidates will be stationed at various branches:
Mariental: Dirlon Reynolds
Katima Mulilo: Musiyabai Tabale, Iuze Muitumwa
Osjifo: Juliana Fillipus
Ondangwa: Anna Haikali, Mateus Joseph
Outapi: Edla Tjikaka
Oshakati: David Nangombe
Keetmanshoop: Shawnae Stoffel
Opuwo: Vamanouzeu Muzuma
The Emerging Bankers Programme promises to tackle youth unemployment by providing opportunities for education and employment, thus promoting inclusive economic growth in Namibia.
