Learn German with Welwitchia, Goethe

Welwitchia University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Goethe-Institut Namibia to introduce its students to courses for German as a Foreign Language.
This collaboration aims to provide high-quality German language education, enhancing students’ career opportunities and cultural competencies.
Under this partnership, Goethe-Institut will offer internationally recognised German language courses aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The programme covers proficiency levels A1, A2, B1, and B2, equipping students with essential language skills in a structured and engaging environment.
Each course level will run for six months and be delivered through face-to-face teaching at Welwitchia University’s premises. Class sizes will be limited to a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 18 participants, ensuring personalised attention. Furthermore, the Goethe-Institut will provide highly qualified teaching staff, CEFR-aligned study materials, and free membership to the Goethe-Institut library, offering students access to books, media, and online learning resources.
Mock examinations will be conducted as part of continuous assessments, preparing students for official Goethe-Zertifikat B2 examinations, which are internationally recognised for academic and professional purposes and students who pass will receive an official certificate from Goethe-Institut, enhancing their global career prospects.
The MoU is set for an initial period of two years, with automatic renewal for successive one-year periods unless either party provides written notice of termination.
