Life-changing donation for Aminius schools

NamPower, through its foundation, invested over N$1.2 million to upgrade equipment and infrastructure at Motsomi Primary and C. Heuva Secondary schools in the Aminius Constituency of the Omaheke Region.
Motsomi Primary, accommodating 392 learners, received renovations to its hostel's laundry room, including the installation of an industrial washing machine and tumble dryer. This upgrade alleviates the physically demanding task of hand-washing laundry for the 524 hostel residents.
C. Heuva Secondary School, which serves 671 learners, benefited from a refurbished computer laboratory, providing students with essential digital literacy skills. This investment reflects NamPower’s belief that a supportive learning environment enhances student well-being and academic performance.
At the handover ceremony, Dr. Simeon Amunkete, chairperson of the NamPower Foundation Advisory Committee, highlighted the broader impact of such investments. “It’s not just about bricks and mortar, hammer and saw; it’s about investing in human potential,” he stated, stressing the role of these improvements in turning dreams into reality.
Motsomi Primary School Principal, Magreth Gaowetse, received the donations, emphasising their importance to the rural schools. She noted that the new laundry facilities would significantly reduce the manual burden on staff, and the upgraded computer lab at C. Heuva Secondary would ease teachers' workloads while enhancing students' computer skills. "These contributions will improve efficiency and help us excel in our duties. We are deeply grateful to NamPower," she remarked.
