JustIn: NamPower calls halt to power cuts - for now

Ogone Tlhage
NamPower has undertaken not to cut the power supply to regional electricity distributors and local authorities until the end of August, following discussions with the ministry of finance and public enterprises, the power utility said in a statement.
"The NamPower board of directors has resolved to put NamPower’s plan to disconnect defaulting customers in abeyance until the end of August 2023. As such, the public is hereby informed that the disconnections will no longer continue until end of August 2023."
The bulk energy supplier called on defaulting customers to settle their accounts.
"NamPower is once again calling on its defaulting customers to pay their dues to enable the company to continue delivering on its mandate, that of ensuring security of supply to the country," the utility said.
