NYEF launched

Empowering youth and driving sustainable energy development
The Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF) has been officially launched, marking a milestone in its mission to empower the youth to lead the charge towards a future in sustainable energy.
Furthermore, the NYEF aims to inspire, educate and provide opportunities for young people to actively participate in the energy sector, driving socioeconomic development and environmental sustainability.
Its mission is to educate, inspire and provide opportunities for young people to actively participate in oil, gas and energy developments in Namibia by providing educational resources, fostering innovation and leadership, facilitating networking and collaboration, and providing scholarships and mentorship programmes to support youth in becoming energy leaders and change makers.
According to founder and executive director Fanuel Shinedima, they believe that by mobilising the energy and enthusiasm of young people, they can make a significant impact on the future of Namibia’s energy landscape. “Therefore, we call on young people across the country to join us in our mission and become active members of NYEF. Together, we can work towards a greener, more prosperous future for all.”
He extended an invitation to stakeholders, including government and ministry agencies, industry professionals and experts, media organisations, and local and international organisations, to join in their efforts. “We seek their guidance, support, and collaboration in various initiatives, including funding and sponsorship, providing resources and information, offering scholarships and other opportunities, and sharing expertise to help us achieve our goals and make a meaningful impact in the energy sector.
“Join us as we embark on this journey towards a cleaner, more resilient energy future. Together, we can empower the next generation of energy leaders and create lasting change for generations to come.”
