Youth Energy Forum hosts hydrogen workshop

The Namibia Youth Energy Forum recently hosted a successful workshop organised by their Renewable Energies Team focusing on the theme "Navigating Hurdles in Hydrogen Adoption".
The event brought together over 40 attendees, including esteemed speakers, industry professionals, and researchers to discuss the potential and challenges of hydrogen adoption in Namibia.
The workshop featured insightful presentations from notable speakers, including Stefannie Busch, an Associate from ENS Africa who provided a comprehensive legal perspective on hydrogen adoption, while Maximillian Rischer, a German Researcher and Hydrogen Expert currently conducting a study on hydrogen in Namibia, shared his extensive research findings. Additionally, Shepherd Nyambe, a researcher from the University of Namibia, presented his academic insights on the subject.
Attendees included representatives from GIZ Namibia, Herald Schutt from Amusha, and Hans-Christian Mahnke, a Consultant from the Legal Assistance Centre. The workshop's agenda focused on assessing the roadmap for hydrogen adoption in Namibia, addressing pressing legal, financial, and societal challenges, and exploring the opportunities that hydrogen adoption presents.
The discussions were dynamic and engaging, with participants actively contributing to a collaborative exploration of hydrogen's potential in Namibia. The workshop emphasised the importance of a multifaceted approach to overcoming the hurdles in hydrogen adoption, ensuring a sustainable and inclusive energy future for the country.
