Gemsbokwater undergoing repairs

The Ministry of the Environment, Forestry and Tourism is busy with repairs to Gemsbokwater in the Namib-Naukluft Park.
"We are aware of the condition of the water point and are currently working on repairs," the ministry's spokesperson, Romeo Muyunda, told our sister publication, Republikein.
This comes after the newspaper received complaints about the condition of the much-needed water point in the park and asked for feedback from the ministry.
"The challenge is that tree roots have blocked the borehole, but our people are working hard to fix it," Muyunda added.
He said that in the meantime game uses the waterholes at Hotsas and Ganav, which are not too far away. "It is a priority for us to restore Gemsbokwater and we will have it running again soon," he said. – [email protected]
