Vehicles, IT equipment for WPS unit

The Integrated Wildlife Protection Project (IWPP), co-financed by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through KfW Development Bank, handed over 22 vehicles (21 4x4 patrol vehicles and one sedan Corolla service vehicle) and IT equipment worth N$19.8 million to the Ministry of Environment Forestry and Tourism (MEFT).
The vehicles and IT equipment, which includes computers, printers, and SMART equipment, will ensure the effective operationalisation of the Ministry's Wildlife Protection Service (WPS) unit to increase measures of protection of endangered species, with particular focus on elephants and rhinos and reduce wildlife crime across the country.
The investments made under the IWP Project contribute towards the MEFT’s overarching goal directed at the sustainable management of natural resources and fair access to these resources for sustainable rural economic development while conserving essential ecosystems.
