Capital gets ready for annual show

The Windhoek Industrial and Agricultural Show is set to kick off on Friday and runs until 5 October at the showgrounds on Bell Street near Maerua Mall.
Organised by the Windhoek Show Society, this year's event showcases the best of Namibia's agricultural, industrial and retail sectors, along with a stellar lineup of local entertainment.
Music lovers are in for a treat with some of Namibia's top artists set to perform, including TopCheri, DJ Vujo, The Ell's, Riaan Smit, The Yesterdaye, Berthold Mbinda and George Longane. Whether you enjoy upbeat dance rhythms, contemporary sounds, or soulful jazz, there's a live act to enhance your experience throughout the show.
Adding to the excitement, the show also features the latest in motoring technology, and visitors can explore cutting-edge car brands and models, giving auto enthusiasts the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the newest vehicles on the market.
For livestock farmers, the cattle exhibition is a major highlight. This exclusive event provides an excellent platform for farmers passionate about cattle farming to connect with industry experts, learn about the latest livestock management techniques, and discover new breeds and technologies.
Visitors can enjoy family-friendly attractions such as the amusement park running daily, with performances by live artists from 18:00 to 21:00. Don’t miss the fireworks display on Thursday 3 October from 20:00 to 20:15, or the Oktoberfest, complete with craft beer and bratwurst.
Entry costs N$50 for adults, N$30 for scholars aged 6 to 18, with free entry for children under six and senior citizens over 60. Seasonal tickets, allowing multiple entries, are available at N$115. Gates open daily from 10:00 to 21:00.
