Shoprite & Checkers host another sizzling boerewors competition
Fillimon Haufiku is the winner of this year’s Shoprite & Checkers boerewors competition, ahead of Hosea Aron and Elizabeth Wedeinge in second and third spot respectively.The final of the 2024 Shoprite & Checkers Namibian Boerewors Competition culminated in a lively celebration of culinary excellence as the top 3 winners were announced at a prestigious event held at Rooster & Co. in the capital over the weekend.
The winners were awarded substantial prizes, with Haufiku going home with receiving N$150 000 in Shoprite & Checkers shopping vouchers, while Aron and Wedeinge winning N$100 000 and N$50 000 in shopping vouchers respectively.
The vouchers can be used for groceries, electricity, school and/or camping gear (Maerua Mall
Checkers branch) or at any Money Market for account payments (Home Choice, Trustco, Walvis Bay Rates and Taxes, City/Windhoek Rates and Taxes, MultiChoice (DStv, MultiChoice Gotv, MultiChoice Box Office), bus or flight tickets, airtime, etc.
Haifiku’s winning boerewors, selected after various knock-out rounds and much deliberation by the judges, will be available in Shoprite & Checkers stores nationwide by the end of September.
As was the case last year, Shoprite & Checkers partnered up with NOVA 103.5, Coca-Cola, Top Score, NamChefs and Tafel Lager to make this competition possible.
