The Miss Namibia 2024 prize-giving ceremony, hosted by the Miss Namibia Organisation in partnership with the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) on Tuesday, marked a celebration of elegance, empowerment and community support.
Reigning Miss Namibia, Prisca Anyolo, was awarded a Toyota Starlet Cross valued at N$307 900, courtesy of long-time sponsor Pupkewitz Motors, which has supported the event for over 30 years. Anyolo will also receive a cash prize of N$150 000 and a monthly allowance of N$3 000, totalling N$36 000 for the year.
In her acceptance speech, Anyolo expressed gratitude to the sponsors, emphasising how their support reflects a broader belief in the aspirations of young Namibian women. “These gifts are not just symbols of success but a reminder that I’m surrounded by a community that believes in the power of purpose and potential of each Namibian woman,” she said.
NBC director general Stanley Similo also acknowledged the event’s sponsors, saying: “Without your support, we would not be here.”
Debmarine Namibia CEO Willy Mertens congratulated all the winners, likening their journey to the brilliance and resilience of diamonds formed under pressure.
The first and second runners-up were also recognised, receiving cash prizes of N$72 000 and N$52 000, respectively, further solidifying the pageant’s role as a platform for empowerment and opportunity.
