International ride-hailing service Yango has partnered with the organisers of the Restoration Concert taking place on 25 November in a bid to support children’s education in Namibia by providing safe and affordable rides for revellers to and from the concert.
The Restoration Concert is an initiative by Project Never Walk Alone that aims to bring Namibians from all walks of life together for restoration.
The concert sees the world-renowned Joyous Celebration performing live in Namibia for the first time alongside 17 of Namibia’s best gospel artists.
Sharing his excitement about the sponsorship, the country manager of Yango Namibia, Kumwe “CJ” Dumeni said: “We are thrilled to be part of the Never Walk Alone Foundation's incredible mission because at Yango, we believe every child deserves to take each step towards education with confidence. By sponsoring this concert, we’re not just providing rides – we're helping kids step into a brighter future, one shoe at a time. Join us in spreading the joy of giving back.”
Yango offers mobility and delivery services in a digital platform with 20+ countries in Africa, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. Yango recently launched its services in Windhoek, making Namibia the 11th African country where Yango services are available.
“We are honoured to welcome Yango on board,” said Tim Ekandjo, founder of Project Never Walk Alone. “This will be a transformative event for Namibia and her people and on November 25th we will gather and fill up the Dr. Hage Geingob stadium to celebrate and restore lives. Yango’s involvement as a sponsor will help us make the event possible and safely transport people to and from the stadium.”
