On 22 December, the coast comes alive with the much-anticipated Swakop Indie Music Fest – a vibrant celebration of local music, creativity and community.Tribe One Events proudly presents the fourth instalment of this family-friendly festival, promising to be the highlight of the holiday season for residents and visitors alike.
The Swakop Indie Fest has become a cornerstone for fostering local talent, offering a stage for Namibian musicians to shine while connecting them with a supportive audience. This year’s event expands its reach by hosting a bustling marketplace for small, creative entrepreneurs, showcasing handmade crafts, art and other local treasures. It is the perfect place to find a special Christmas gift.
It’s more than just a festival; it’s a hub for uplifting the community and celebrating Namibia's unique talents.
The festival features a stellar line-up of local indie bands and solo artists, some established favourites, and some fresh new faces, entertaining you all day!
They are Riaan Smit & The Shadowkatz, The Yesterdaye, Vaughn Ahrens Band, Janelle en die Wandelaars, O.U.Slow, The Gondwana Undivided Band, Jacob & Taylor, Johnny Crash, Lin-Mari, Jessica Ashley, DJ Mickey G and DJ YD Fresh.
But it’s not just about the tunes! Families can look forward to an array of exciting activities designed for all ages, ensuring the little ones are entertained while adults soak in the creative atmosphere.
By attending the festival, you’ll be supporting and empowering local musicians and entrepreneurs to grow and thrive; enjoy a safe, inclusive fun day packed with activities for kids; and discover unique, handcrafted goods and support local businesses – all while creating unforgettable memories!
The festival takes place at the Swakopmund Paintball & Adventure Park, with live music starting at 11:00. Kids under 12 enter for free, while those aged 12 to 17 pay N$50. For 18 and over, advance tickets cost N$199 (via webtickets) or N$300 at the gates.
