WIKA ushers in the 'fifth season'

On 11 November (11/11), the next jesting season of the Windhoek Carnival (WIKA) began at the magical hour of 19:11. WIKA President Holger Mentzel announced the logo for the 2025 season: "Mensch! Ärgere dich nicht!" (Man, don't get angry!). This will be the 71st carnival which will be celebrated from 27 March to 6 April 2025 (Sunday), starting with the Royal Ball and ending with the Kehraus (https://q.my.na/X7VK). The Windhoek Carnival Society 52 is led by President Frank Schatz and his Vice President, Katja Diener. On 11/11 the session presidents for the coming season were also introduced. They are Holger Mentzel who will lead the Royal Ball, supported by Harald Hecht, who will also rely on Mentzel's support when he leads the gala session the following day. The current carnival prince Norbert 1, the passionate carnival worm (Norbert Wurm), will lead the international evenings (together with Holger Sircoulomb), while Nadja Schatz will lead the ladies' night and Carsten von Lüttwitz the men's evening. Meraai Helm and Annette Werner will lead and organise the KiKaWi (children's carnival).
