In the heart of Windhoek, a vibrant new initiative is set to unfold this October – the Windhoek Spring Market.
Scheduled for 5 October, the Windhoek Spring Market takes place in the CBD along Independence Avenue and at the Zoo Park.
Organised by the municipality’s economic development division, this event is set to be more than just a market; it is an effort to promote economic growth, support small businesses, and strengthen community ties – because local is lekker!
The market also aligns with the division's mandate to foster economic opportunities and investment, creating a space where entrepreneurs can showcase their products, attract investment, and stimulate socio-economic development in Windhoek.
The Windhoek Spring Market promises a colourful platform for small and medium-sized enterprises to increase their visibility and boost sales. By creating this space, the City hopes to generate revenue for local businesses and contribute to Windhoek's overall economic development.
Also, the event will serve as a public gathering place, drawing people from diverse backgrounds to enjoy the city's rich cultural offerings and build a sense of community.
The City says the Spring Market has several key objectives: to promote local products, from fresh produce to artisanal food and crafts; to serve as a gathering place for people from different backgrounds to enjoy what the city has to offer; to support arts and culture by showcasing local talent, promoting arts and culture in the city; and offering authentic experiences for visitors.
The Spring Market also includes dedicated entertainment areas for children and a "City of Windhoek Village" where residents can learn about municipal services and more.
Make a date for 5 October to visit the market from 09:00 to 20:00.
