Junior veterinarian: Dr Emilia Nambinga

Dr Emilia Nambinga has been a veterinarian for the past year and is currently a junior veterinary clinician at the University of Namibia (Unam) Veterinary Academic Hospital, which is a branch of the Neudamn Veterinary Hospital. Namibinga mostly enjoys what she calls the transformation process of her job. "Some patients are brought in with bite wounds, broken legs, or not eating, accompanied by worried owners who are just hoping that we can help their pet, and sometime later the very same patient walks out bright and happy, healthy, and well; that for me is my favourite part of this job," she stated. In addition, the diversity in her career makes her job stand out. "I can go from being a wildlife veterinarian to working in a lab," she explained. "I can also go from setting up feeding programmes for farmers to being a researcher."
