Expansion plans for Osona Village
In an important move to meet Okahandja's expanding housing needs, Mayor Beatrice Kotungondo revealed ambitious plans for the rapid expansion of Osona Village on Friday.Speaking at a media briefing, Kotungondo highlighted the development of this new residential area as a key component of the town’s strategy to provide affordable and accessible housing for its residents.
The Osona Village project, which has already seen the completion of 2 070 houses, is set to become one of the largest housing developments in the region. With projections of 13 000 to 15 000 houses to be built in the coming years, the expansion is aimed at transforming the town's landscape, providing homes for thousands of families and contributing to the town’s economic growth.
"This is more than just a housing project," Kotungondo stressed. "Osona Village represents our commitment to creating a livable and inclusive community where all residents can thrive. By providing quality housing, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future for Okahandja."
