A pulse oximeter is a small monitoring device that can provide information about a patient's oxygen saturation and pulse rate.
n February of this year, Frederik van der Walt, founder and trustee of the Nampharm Foundation, contacted the Ministry of Health and Social Services and asked for permission to donate 400 of these finger clips, valued at over N$66 000 to the two state-run hospitals in Windhoek.
The Nampharm Foundation is part of Nampharm, a pharmaceutical distributor based in Namibia. The welfare association aims to provide free medical care, especially for children.
