An oasis of health
The Women's Wellness Centre at Medical Imaging was officially opened and inaugurated by the First Lady, H.E. Madame Sustjie Mbumba, earlier this month.This facility, located on Heliodoor Street, offers a private and calming environment with a range of services specifically for women, including mammograms, bone density tests, X-rays and ultrasound scans.
The main aim of the centre is to give women peace of mind during this often anxiety-ridden process. Here, women can be examined without the clinical and sometimes intimidating atmosphere of a hospital. "These are very sensitive and private examinations, especially mammography. That is why patients need to feel safe and calm," says Clinical Standards Manager, Lousie Eksteen. With this in mind, the facility has carefully created an experience that is more reminiscent of a spa than a medical facility.
