Glasses donated to eye clinic

The Windhoek Lions Club received a donation of 60 eyeglass frames for children and babies this week.
The donations were handed over by Klaus Bayer from the Lions Club Starnberg, as well as Carlo Wagner and Dr Iris Kocak-Laue of the Koblenz Lions Club.
This is part of the Lions Recycle for Sight program, where people can bring their used glasses to a Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center (LERC) to donate them to those in need.
"Glasses' refractive errors can be easily corrected, but millions living in low- and middle-income countries lack access to basic eye care services. The Lions Club noticed the urgent need for lenses and collected usable glasses in their communities to support the Lions Recycle For Sight program," the Lions Club website states.
Special baby and children's glasses were presented to Corinna Andreae and her team at the Windhoek Central Hospital's eye clinic.
