WHO DG visits Namibia

The Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, is on a two-day visit to Namibia aimed at strengthening collaboration on public health matters of mutual concern of both the WHO and the government in line with the organisation's strategic priorities of achieving universal health coverage for all people of all ages. Ghebreyesus is expected to have bilateral meetings with President Hage Geingob, Health Minister Dr Kalumbi Shangula, and First Lady Monica Geingos. He will also be visiting the Katutura Intermediate Hospital and the PMTCT clinic with the aim of highlighting Namibia's success in the triple elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B.
