Win big with the Dare to Share your blood story
The Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia (NamBTS) is hosting an innovative and impactful competition that brings out powerful stories about blood donations that could inspire others. And you can win N$10 000 to boot!
The story should be real life experience and must be creative in a form of video, poem, song, play, film or animation. Whether you’ve received blood, donated blood, or know someone whose life was saved by it, we want to hear your story.
How to participate
1. Record your story – it can be a short video, a song, a poem, or even an animation. Be creative!
2. Ensure your content is based on a real event – this competition is about authentic, true stories.
3. Submit your entry by 31 May 2025.
4. Make sure your content is in English (or has English subtitles).
5. Follow copyright rules – all content must be your own original work.
This is your chance to make a difference. Dare to Care. Dare to Share.
Besides the first prize of N$10 000, the second and third prizes are N$6 000 and N$3 000 respectively. Plus, there’s a special commendation prize of N$1 500.
Winners will be announced on 12 June 2025, leading up to World Blood Donor Day, which is celebrated internationally and locally on 14 June 2025.
Zita Tobin, Manager Marketing and Donor Relations, said, “In the last year, approximately 50 000 donations were received from voluntary blood donors. We need you to share your donation stories or blood recipient story as creatively as possible and enter our Blood Story Competition, where there are fantastic cash prizes to be won. Special acknowledgement must be given to the Global Blood Fund for sponsoring the prize money. So let’s see how creative Namibians can be!
