Justice launches new website

The Ministry of Justice recently updated its website aimed at improving the public's access to information and promoting transparency.
The new website was launched in the capital last week.
The ministry's spokesperson, Edmund Khoaseb, said that the new website is a product of teams within the ministry and that it did not require any additional costs.
The ministry's executive director, Gladice Pickering, pointed out the importance of this revamped website on behalf of Minister Yvonne Dausab. "It is an important resource in terms of the ministry's efforts to better serve the public."
The website promises to be more user-friendly and is designed so that users can comfortably navigate between functions and easily access information, even for those with limited technical skills.
The website also provides access to the Namibia Legal Information Institute (NamibLII) website, which offers free access to legislation, judgments and Government Gazettes.
Understanding laws
"This integration supports public understanding of the law and upholds the rule of law in Namibia," a statement by the ministry said.
All necessary procurement documents and reports will also be published on the website, which the ministry claims reflects its compliance with the law on public procurement.
"This initiative reinforces the ministry's commitment to ethical procurement practices and the efficient management of public resources."
Pickering emphasised that the revamped website is more than just a digital platform, but a crucial part of the ministry's mission to ensure #Justice4All. "The website serves as a gateway for citizens to engage with the ministry, access important legal resources and understand their rights and responsibilities under the law.
"The revamped website represents our commitment to transparency, accessibility and improving justice in Namibia," Pickering said at the launch.
The ministry invited the public to visit the new website and take advantage of it. "Feedback from the public is welcomed as it will help the ministry to refine its services to better meet the needs of the Namibian people." – [email protected]
