Hearts across Windhoek

Feel the love in the capital
Gondwana Collection Namibia, in collaboration with the City of Windhoek, launched the ‘Hearts Across Windhoek’ initiative, a campaign that celebrates love, unity and reconciliation this holiday season.
As part of Gondwana’s broader ‘Hearts Across Horizons’ campaign, the initiative highlights the transformative work of the Gondwana Care Trust. The trust is dedicated to social responsibility, uplifting communities and fostering sustainable change through projects in education, healthcare, food security and environmental conservation.
The campaign introduces heart-shaped frames as temporary installations at key locations across Windhoek, symbolising connection and reflection. These locations are at the City of Windhoek Tourism Offices, in Robert Mugabe Avenue across from the City Museum, in front of the Parliament Building, at UN Plaza adjacent to the canal, and between the Independence Museum and the Christuskirche.
One of the frames occupies the historic pedestal on Independence Avenue, where the Curt von François statue once stood. The heart frames are also the centrepiece of Gondwana’s Valentine’s Kiss of the Year competition, running from December 2024 to January 2025. Couples are invited to capture their romantic moments within the frames and share them on social media using designated hashtags. The winning couple will receive an exclusive Valentine’s getaway.
