New names for Windhoek streets

The City of Windhoek officially changes 17 street names in the capital today
Among others, Windhoek mayor Queen Kamati, Khomas governor Laura McLeod-Katjirua, urban and rural development minister Erastus Uutoni and Windhoek councillor Job Amupanda will address the official event.
Among the most well-known street names that will change, is Johann Albrecht Street which leads from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (Nust) through Windhoek West and Windhoek North. The street is being renamed to Gaob Dr. Justus ||Garoëb Street.
Jordaan Street in Pionierspark will be renamed after Bishop Bonifatius Haushiku, while Hennnie Laubscher Street in Olympia will henceforth be known as Karel Ndjoba Street.
In the Dolam, Sin Street will be renamed Ulrich Paulino Street, while Dam Beach Street in Goreangab's extension five will be known as John Kambangula Street.
In Elisenheim, a street that has not been named yet, will be designated as Bishop Hendrik Frederik Street.
Eneas Peter Nanyemba Street in Auasblick is being renamed to avoid confusion with Windhoek's other Peter Nanyemba Street and will in future be known as Jason Mutumbulua Street.
Also in Auasblick, one of the new streets will be christened Fanuel Kozonguizi Street.
Another new street in Academia will be named after Nicodemus Kavikunua, while a series of new streets in Rocky Crest Extension 4 will be named after Simon Sisingi Hiskia, Gaob Josophat Gawa-!Nab, Chief Kamatuara Kukuri, Frans Kambangula, Karl Kazondunge, Festus Kamburona, Jacob Marengo and Bryan O'Linn, respectively.
