Bank Windhoek recognised the hard work and achievements of salespersons and car dealerships in northern Namibia at its fourth annual Northern Selekt Sales Awards, hosted in Oshakati.
The awards celebrate the automotive industry’s commitment to the northern region for the previous financial year in their work with the bank.
Delivering the keynote address, Bank Windhoek’s head of stakeholder engagement, corporate social responsibility and sponsorships, Bronwyn Moody, said since the bank began supporting motor vehicle dealerships in financing vehicle sales in the north, strides in forming relationships were made with various brands in the marketplace.
“Forming these relationships has been good and we commit to doing even more in the future,” she said. “As the only Namibian local bank, our goal is to become the financial service provider of choice with all dealerships in the north, where our deals and promotions stay groundbreaking as they secure record sales for our partnerships.”
Moody explained that Bank Windhoek is focused on forming lasting and productive partnerships in the future and continues to place Namibian interests at the heart of its operations.

Achievements in a challenging economy
Abed Wapota, a sales executive for Pupkewitz Volkswagen North, received the golden award as the top salesperson of 2023. He said securing sales was challenging, as he observed customers who struggled to acquire deposits but desired to buy vehicles.
“Building a relationship with Bank Windhoek consultants has helped me assist customers in purchasing their vehicles with workable solutions,” he said.
Awarded a silver award in the category of top salesperson of the year, sales executive at Indongo Toyota Ongwediva, Nikanor Shindombo, echoed Wapota's views, saying that 2023 was a challenging year to secure sales but that he partnered with Bank Windhoek to reach his targets.
“Bank Windhoek was able to offer exceptional service because they understand customers’ needs. This approach is evident as they continuously assist local Namibians in getting proudly behind the wheels of their financed vehicles,” he said.
Indongo Toyota received the gold award, followed by Pupkewitz VW North, which scooped the silver award, followed by Pupkewitz Ongwediva in third with the bronze award.
