The Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF) has announced a new partnership with Dutch Project Quality (DPQ) consulting services to sponsor the establishment of operations and projects in Lüderitz.
This collaboration aims to empower, educate and upskill young people in Lüderitz, enabling them to actively participate in shaping Namibia's energy landscape, particularly in the oil and gas sector, the forum said.
The sponsorship was officially handed over by Ciska Bakx of DPQ, who emphasised the company's belief in the NYEF's vision and its commitment to supporting Namibian youth.
“We are proud to support the NYEF and invest in the potential of young Namibians. By equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge, we are not only enhancing their futures but also contributing to the sustainable development of Namibia’s energy sector,” she said.
DPQ's generous support will significantly enhance NYEF’s initiatives in the southern harbour town, providing essential resources for aspiring professionals. This partnership will facilitate a range of educational programmes, mentorship opportunities and networking events, offering young people invaluable pathways for hands-on experience and career growth, a statement read.
NYEF chairperson Fanuel Shinedima expressed profound gratitude for DPQ's support.
“This sponsorship is a major boost for NYEF and a significant investment in the future of Namibian youth. We invite all stakeholders to join us in supporting Namibian youth, ensuring they have the tools and access needed to actively shape our nation’s energy landscape.”
DPQ, known for its excellence in maritime and technical services, is dedicated to empowering local talent and fostering community development, the company said in a statement. By investing in the potential of Namibian youth, it is not only strengthening the local workforce, but also driving innovation within the energy sector.
