Hangana employees to get 7% salary hike
Hangana Seafood, a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List Group, in collaboration with the Namibia Fishing Industry & Fisherman Workers Union (NFI & FWU), has successfully signed a substantive one-year agreement. This agreement ensures that 1709 dedicated bargaining unit employees of Hangana Seafood will benefit from a notable 7% increase in their basic salary, starting from 1 July 2023.Francois Olivier, Managing Director of Hangana Seafood, stated that he is pleased with the outcome and complimented NFI & FWU and the Hangana management for concluding the wage negotiations in an amicable way. “This achievement serves as a foundation as we move ahead, focusing on the year ahead and unlocking new realities in terms of company performance and leadership. In his statement, the President of the NFI, David Imbili, said, “NFI, along with its negotiation team comprising of shop stewards and led by their determined Chairwoman, Meme Saara, extends its gratitude to Hangana Seafood (Pty) Ltd for the successful conclusion of the recent wage negotiations.
The journey presented its challenges right from the beginning, however, through a commitment to transparency and open communication, we managed to meet each other halfway.
