After months of vigorous competition that showcased the immense vocal talent Namibia has to offer, the new winner of the Voice of Namibia competition was finally announced on Saturday night at Droombos, on the outskirts of Windhoek, where the finale was held.
The final round saw the top 17 finalists take to the stage to perform a song of their choice, following which the top 10 were announced.
At the end of the night, John Raymond (JR) Cupido from Walvis Bay went home with the title of Voice of Namibia and a cash prize of N$10 000. The prize was sponsored by Pupkewitz Megabuild.
Lize Visser was selected as the runner-up, and Mike Nghituwamata took the third spot.
Last year's winner, Lin-Mari Coetzee, handed over the title to her successor and also performed a number of songs during the evening.
