Old Mutual Unit Trusts (OMUT), a key offering under the Old Mutual Investment Group Namibia, proudly demonstrated its ongoing commitment to youth development through its recent support of two notable school initiatives that highlight both academic and extracurricular excellence.

At Windhoek High School (WHS), OMUT celebrated academic achievement by recognising the top two Grade 10 Mathematics performers during the school’s annual awards ceremony. This year’s spotlight shone on Lené Cloete and Anita de Waal, who both achieved an impressive 98% in Mathematics. The awards were handed over by Florida Nainda, Operations Manager at Old Mutual Investment Group Namibia, who noted:

“At Old Mutual, we celebrate excellence and believe in nurturing the academic potential of our youth. Supporting learners who excel in subjects like Mathematics is not only about rewarding hard work, but also about encouraging the pursuit of knowledge that can transform communities and contribute to Namibia’s development. Congratulations to Lené and Anita for their exceptional achievements.”

Meanwhile, OMUT also extended its support to Windhoek Gymnasium by sponsoring their Dragon Boat Event at Heja Dam, an exciting highlight on the school’s calendar. This dynamic event blends physical endurance with teamwork, promoting personal growth, leadership, and collaboration among learners.

Jo-Ann van Wyk, Business Development Manager at Old Mutual Investment Group Namibia, shared that “At Old Mutual, we believe in investing in the future, and that means investing in our youth. Events like the Dragon Boat challenge are more than just fun; they instil discipline, teamwork, and goal-setting skills that are vital in every area of life, including financial planning and personal development. We’re proud to partner with Windhoek Gymnasium in shaping confident, capable leaders for tomorrow.”

Both initiatives reflect Old Mutual’s broader strategy to support education, empower young people, and promote well-rounded excellence across Namibia. Whether in the classroom or on the water, OMUT continues to stand behind opportunities that foster future-ready citizens.
