Rising Voices art exhibition opens at FNCC
A group exhibition by five artists
The selected artists were chosen to join an artist-grown programme by the African Prime Initiative.
The Rising Voices group exhibition opened on Thursday evening at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC). The exhibition celebrates the work of five artists, namely: Elisia Nghidishange, Lynette Diergaardt, Lynette Musukubili, Kambezunda Ngavee and Vitjitua Ndjiharine. The artists were selected from a large group to join an artist-grown programme by the African Prime Initiative.
The initiative provided grants to each artist to equip themselves with the necessary equipment to create their art pieces, including a weaving loom for one artist. With the funding granted by the African Prime Initiative, the artists were able to expand on individual practices and work efficiently.
One of the artists, Lynette Diergaardt, expressed her gratitude, saying: "Thank you for the experience and the opportunity to apply for the funding, and the continued engagement with the initiative."
The exhibition will be open until the 21 August.
